A number of iPhone users have been logged out of Apple ID. For its part, Apple has not yet communicated a problem in its services.
The times are a bit tricky for iPhone users, who need to use Apple ID. Last month, they faced a phishing campaign asking them to reset their passwords. But where they had to deal with scammers, this time it’s a real problem that has appeared on Apple’s interface.
Users logged out without explanation from Apple
Over the weekend, many iPhone owners on the other side of the Atlantic reported that they had exited Apple ID without any explanation. A problem widespread enough to have an echo on social networks, while Apple for its part has not reported any problems.
The problem is that this is not a simple logout, as when users tried to log in again, their passwords were not recognized by the system.
Password needs to be changed
As a result, everyone affected by this issue was forced to reset their passwords to log in again. As a reminder, identification via Apple ID is required to access the various Apple services available on your devices such as the App Store, Apple Music, FaceTime, or iMessage. Suffice it to say, the device isn’t very usable when you’re disconnected.
While password resetting isn’t a very complex issue, some people who had enabled the “Device Theft Protection” feature had to wait an hour before they could change their password. So, simple “random security improvements” as one user was told by Apple, who posted the answer on Mastodon?
