The year 2021, Windows 11 was supposed to be the one that will stand as the successor to the lineage of Microsoft operating systems. However, despite the fact that it’s been there for nearly a year, it’s Windows 10, the OS that’s older, that is now running faster than ever before.
StatCounter, an organization specializing in statistics (operating systems, web browsers, etc.), makes a surprising observation: In the beginning of October 2024, through the use of windows 10 thousands of users were attracted this lead to market share of 70% for the first time since September 2023. With this metric in mind, Microsoft is fast approaching the 30% barrier, which is an increase that has come at Windows 11’s expense that, after reaching 28.16% in February, is now below the 26% bracket.
On the other hand, Windows 10 is gaining ground with time, and Windows 11 fumbles forward in its demise.
This Windows 10 is now a decade old and seeing as it has never been in this high demand as it is today. But, its support will stop officially Microsoft as of October 25, 2025. To be noted that the new update was recently released that makes the download size reduction. In this particular case, the replaced version of those old Windows 11 surely seems to have the sails to go along with these. Interestingly, Windows 10 at this current time is just increasing its market share by 0.96 points between March and April, upon reaching 69.07% and then rising up to 70.03%.
To provide a more positive view on Windows 11, we cannot say that the issue is so critical. It was appreciated when in February 2024 it reached the peak with 28.16% market share, but Windows accept this fact that it would keep losing the market share, as well. The data presented by StatCounter showed that Windows 11 slid 0.97 points in April, the market share of users gradually shrank from 26.68 to 25.65%.
Is there any guarantee that Microsoft will support Windows 11 in the long run? With regards to how this happens, in terms of Neowin’s opinion, it can be accounted for by several factors.
Benefits are among the things of Windows 11 which, according to some experts, are less clear and simple to be proven by user experience as therefore a significant reason why upgrading is not necessary. To be honest, unexpected removal of some initially planned features, such as a Windows subsystem for Android, has just caused a number of users to be puzzled. On the other hand, to install Windows 11 for the first time you must pass it and another.
This is the prerequisite. At the same time, you can face and advertising. In contrary, the emergence of overwhelming native-ins, which non customer cared most about, did no credit to the windows. When you confront them under these conditions that are hard to do so users to migrate to an operating system which doesn’t meet the better sleep. Sometimes or frequently this experience is broken which is intrusive, Mentioning too that these numbers as reported by StatCounter have no precise accuracy, just imply a general trend in use of Microsoft’s OS.
We expect that the completion of Windows 11 and its release in 2024 will produce a consensus built around the OS and it will be accepted by the users. He is likely to find fewer platforms to express himself solely through his words without this book.
